Show SIMPSON CASE IS TAKEN FROM JURY Idaho Bankers ou Trial Are Still Held to tlie Next Grand Jury. BOlfoE, Sept. 13. Judge Frank S. Dietrich of the federal district court here today took from the jury the ease of the Uuited States agaiust W. D. G. Simpson and S. D. Simpson, officerj of the American National bank, indicted and ou trial on the charge of violating the federal banking act, and gnashed I the indictments. The court, however, holds tho defendants to the next graud jury. The sudden termination of the -case came as an unlocked for surprise. The Simpsons had been facing trial for two days. At the conclusion of the government govern-ment ;s presentation of the caso the defense de-fense rested without introducing evidence evi-dence and the court took the case from the jury. The American National bank of Caldwell Cald-well failed a year ago. The government govern-ment charged that. Oashior S. D. Simp-sou Simp-sou issued a certificate of deposit to V. D. O. Simpson when tho latter did not have funds in the bank to cover it. With it ho negotiated a loan with tho Monticello Banking company of Monti-cello, Monti-cello, Ky., it was charged by the government. |
