Show RUN DOWN BY RIG AND ESCAPES INJURY Messenger Boy Is Knocked Down Dy Maddened Horse; Arises Unhurt. Vcrnaii C'onley, 3 8 years oi age, messenger mes-senger for Strevell-Faterson Hardware Hard-ware company, had, a miraculous escape es-cape from iniury on Main street near Third South 'street yesterday. The young man was taking the firm's mail to the postoffice when ho was knocked down bv a runaway horse and buggy at Third South street. The horse and buggv both passed over tho young man's body, but beside a few scratches lie escaped uninjured. The horse and buggy was being driven driv-en by V. E. Kline, tobacco salesman. The horse became excited at Third South and Maiu streets and ran away, dashing madly down Main street. 11. A. Olson traffic." policeman-at Third South street attempted to stop the frightened horse, but could not do so. The horse continued his race until the bugev collided with the curb in front of Progress Kealty company, where he was stopped. The buggy was demolished demol-ished and Kline was thrown out and somersaulted over the horse's head. He was not injured. |
