Show Moon Lake Electic rate increase Moon Lake Electric Association board members passed unanimously a 10.87-mil pass-through rate increase last. week. The increase, per kilowatt hour, is effective on or within a few days after June 1. The association's nine-member board of directors passed the mill increase in-crease after a Roosevelt public hearing for customers. Electric power users will pay utility bills increased by varying amounts ranging from 31 to 42 percent, association announcements show! Residential users' bills will go up 31-35 percent, irrigators' bills will increase about 35 percent and industrial and other large-volume power users' bills will go up 39-42 percent. The added power costs will pay about $3.4 million more of assiciation obligations in Utah annually under a new power generation and distribution method. Moon Lake is one of six rural electric associations participating in Deseret Generation and Transmission Cooperative which is purchasing long-term long-term generation privileges with Utah Power & Light Co.'s Hunter II Unit in Emery County. |
