Show Group fears Red Fleet cost Dear Editor: I am receiving considerable comment com-ment now from local citizens concerned over what the Red Fleet project might finally end up costing us all. Some have expressed concern that perhaps my figures are high and inaccurate since no one in an official capacity has divulged this obviously pending disaster. May I suggest that had there been any glaring errors or inaccuracies inourfecent (May 22, 1980) ad in your paper and also the Basin Nickel Ads we would have heard about it by now. May I clarify my (our) concern: 1. The extremely valuable Ashley Springs must be totally redeemed to locally elected managment and thus assure its most beneficial use on a local level. 2. The Red Fleet project has unreasonably "blank check" exceeded our present ability to pay for and we must defer construction of the Red Fleet aquaduct. I certainly don't like the thoughts of a $60.00 (or more) per month water bill then too, apparently own nothing at the end of 50 years. Thus my campaign will continue. We will need much public support to ac-- ac-- complish both above items. Apparently : we've already stirred a little action within some officials but still as yet no challenge to the accuracy of our ads. We invite and even encourage any and all who are using city water to attend our next committee meeting. We'll be glad to review all the facts and information gathered thus far. We invite and encourage everyone to examine the facts. I now anticipate increased public concern and thus our next meeting will be held in the Uintah County Court House, Court Room. Date: Tuesday, June 10. Time: 8:01 p.m. Sincerely, STANLEY A ANDERSON |
