Show Basin traffic still on increase Traffic volumes in the Uintah Basin is above the corresponding period of last year, according to the April Utah Department of Transportation Traffic Bulletin. Overall traffic volumes on various highway systems is 4.9 percent less during April than last year and 4.3 percent less for the first four months compared with last year, according to the UDOT report. Traffic on Interstate 80 at Parleys Canyon is 19.5 percent over last April and 6.3 percent above the four month period. U.S. Highway 40 at Daniels Canyon traffic was listed at 2.2 percent increase for April and 4.9 percent increase in-crease for the four month period. Highway U.S. 40 east of Jensen recorded a traffic volume increase of 4.2 percent for April and 9.3 percent for the period. U-44 north of Vernal indicated in-dicated a decrease of 4.2 percent for April and 1.9 percent increase for the first four months. On U.S. 40 west of Roosevelt the traffic count was 0.8 percent fewer than April of last year and 4.4 percent more than the first four months compared to last year. U-87 north of Duchesne was up 16.1 percent for April and 7.4 percent for the period, according to the UDOT report. |
