"The boys will spend all week in classes about state and local government," govern-ment," said Neil Deets, commander of Post 11. "They will also participate in elections of government and learn their functions by actual participation." About 500 boys from Utah are expected ex-pected to attend Boy's State, and two will be elected to represent the state at Boy's Nation in August. According to Deets, Boy's State candidates are recommended by their high school teachers during their junior year.
