Show Local businessman named to Mountain Bell Board Ralph L. Ashton, executive vice president of Ashton Brothers Company in Vernal, was recently named to Mountain Bell's Board of Advisors. Ashton is replacing Howard W. Price, who is retiring from the post. The board of advisors members are civic leaders, outstanding citizens and successful businessmen who advise and aid the Utah Vice President and General Manager in different aspects of the economy and business. They aid in a liaison capacity, representing the company to the public and the public to the company. Ashton is a member of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce. He was the past director of the American Institute of Mining and Petroleum Engineers. He has served on the board of directors and on the executive committee of Flying Diamond Oil, now part of Bow Valley Oil. In other endeavors, Ashton has served as president of the Dinaland Country Club, the Vernal Rotary Club and the Uintah Knife and Fork Club. He was also on the board of directors of the Uintah County Hospital. Ashton graduated from Stanford University in 1947 with a B.S., and took graduate school business executive courses in 1968.
