Show Ballard I Telintha Rasmussen I Phone 722-4875 J Roy Roberts dies at home Thursday evening, May 29, Roy Roberts died at his home here in Ballard with a heart attack. His funeral was held at the Olpin Mortuary last Monday. Mrs. Jane Abercrombie and 2 sons from Guam are here at her brother-in-law's, the Bob Abercrombies home. Her husband, Steve Abercrombie, will join her soon and they will be spending two months in the United States visiting here and in Montana before returning to Guam where Steve is serving in the U.S. Navy. All of the Anna Johnson family were here for the Memorial weekend and spent two days. Anita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Ercanbrack, and Gary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Peterson of Las . Vegas, Nev., will be married Saturday, June 7 at the Moon Lake building in v) Roosevelt by Bishop Orlo Spencer. A ;r reception will be held there from 7 to 9 p.m. in the evening. After a short honeymoon these young people will be making their home in Salt Lake City. Robert Page will report his missionary experiences next Sunday in Ballard Ward Sacrament meeting at 3 p.m. Robert returned home May 25 from his Canada Hallifax LDS mission. His brother and 4 sisters and parents all met him at the Salt Lake airport. Last Thursday evening, May 29, when Donald Womack was playing church baseball at the ball park, he broke the top of his foot. Friday morning mor-ning his brother Stanley, mother Cleo and wife Debra took him to the St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City where his foot was operated on. He will be in the hospital lor one week. It will be two months before he can return to work. The Davis family that recently bought an acre of ground from Kelly Redmond has now moved a big trailer home on their property. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Eckles have a new daughter, born May 21 in the Cottonwood Hospital in Salt Lake City. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was named Lucenda Rose. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William S. Eckles of Salt Lake City and Mrs. and Mrs. Alex Toth of Boerne, Texas. This is the Eckles first baby. The new duplex of Clarence Riches just south of the Ballard Church has been rented to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Manquardson. The Manquardsons are from Altamont. Angie Tryon and Nettie Smith have gone to Texas for a weeks vacation. They left just after Angie graduated from Union High. Kathy, Jack and Ardith Allred's daughter graduated from Utah State University last Saturday. The Allreds and daughter, Dixie, attended the graduation, Kathy has a job in Logan and will remain there. Judy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlan Cook, graduated last Saturday, May 31 from Utah State Univeristy at Logan. Her major was education and she plans on teaching school. All the Cook family attended the graduation. Babies blessed and named by their fathers in Sacrament meeting in Ballard ward last Sunday were the Robert Abercrombie daughter, named Hillery Beth; the Jon Heaton son named James Wendall.grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heaton attended the services; the Roland Powell daughter named Jennifer, special guests that cam were Zella Remington from Altamont, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Erchler from Roosevelt, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Page and family from Vernal, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Powell from Altamont. After Sacrament meeting all the family relatives met at the Zane Asay home and had dinner. |
