II II The New .lersey Academy was thrown open last Friday evening to the friends and patrons of the school and a delightful social time was the portion of those who found it convenient conven-ient to visit at the Institution that evening. With tho exception of the dining-room and a room on the second floor, no very elaborate decorations had been attempted, as it was the desire de-sire of those directly Interested in the Institution that the public should sec the building as It Is usually kept. .Kvery loom In the house, Including the kitchen and pantiles, was open for Inspection, and the guests roamed at their pleasure. The tlnee school rooms on the first floor were thrown Into one, and here an impromptu musical piogram was rendered. In one of the smaller rooms at the head of the second flight of stalls fruit punch was seived, and the room tastefully taste-fully decorated with plants and crepe paper presented a very pleasing appearance. appear-ance. Thespaoiousdlniiig-rooniln the basement with a large Japanese parasol para-sol hanging from the center of the ceiling from which crepe paper hung in graceful festoons, was very Inviting and heie It was that the guests were served with Ice cream. In the halls rose berries and sunflowers were scattered scat-tered in piofusion, and In a geneial way the entlic building piesented a very pleasing appearance. As the visitors roamed from basement to hedioom many expressions were heard as to the home-like appearance of ever thing tho neatness dlspla.ved, the comfortableness of the bedrooms, and the evident efficiency and capability capa-bility of those In charge to conduct a high-class school of the kind. And all this Is naturally very gratifying to the head of the Institution, who with ills able corps of teachers, has vvoiked so haul to bring the school up to Its present high standaid. It has been tho design of those in charge of the work to make the Academy a school of the greatest worth so far as Instruction Instruc-tion is concerned and at the same time a school of such high muial tone as tobc at tract I veto those parents who desire to enter their children where first-class instruction is combined combin-ed with home-like comforts and homelike home-like training. |
