Show Former Roosevelt Girl To Sing In U Of U Festival Bonnie Lou Hancock, formerly former-ly of Roosevelt, will appear in the chorus of "Aida," the University Uni-versity of Utah Summer Festival Festi-val production, which opened Monday, July 26. In the cast of the beautiful romantic opera by Verdi, Miss Hancock will sing as a member of the Egyptian chorus. The story of the opera tells of an Egyptian soldier who' spurns the love of a princess for the love of a slave girl. Four nationally-known operatic oper-atic stars are appearing in the second Summer Festival show. Beverly Sills, soprano, leads the cast as "Aida." Other stars include in-clude John Druary, a familiar Summer . Festival performer, Gloria Lane and Grant Garnell. Miss Hancock, who now lives in Salt Lake City, is a graduate of Alterra High School. While attending the Brigham Young University she was a member of Lambda Delta Sigma, a religious re-ligious organization. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hancock, of Oakland, Calif. |
