Show Woods Cross High Cat Chat By JOANNA MOODY Greetings! Last Wednesday (the 14th) our very own terrific, awesome, awe-some, outrageous marching band blew everyone away at the Davis Cup. We took first place in drum major, soloists, percussion, brass and auxiliary. We took second place in the woodwind division and first place overall. We are soooo proud of our band. It was quite a sight! Congrats to all those who participated. Tonight, many of our honorable students will be inducted into the National Honor Society at 7 in the auditorium. These students are not dumb, rather they are a fine group of great people who excel in academics, acade-mics, leadership, and community service. The NSH is a very prestigious presti-gious club to be a part of. Also today is volleyball WX at Viewmont at 5 and our sophomore footballers play East at WX at 3:30 whilst the JV play WX at East at the same time. The 23rd represents the final, real, true to life football game on our own turf. That is East at Woods Cross at 7:30. Come and have a ball! The 22nd is the preliminary competition for marching bands at the University of Utah and the 24th is the date of the final competition where we blow 'em all away (again)!! The 25th is a very special day but it also marks the end of Daylight Savings which means that we can all enjoy an extra hour of life! Live it up, dudes. The 27th is volleyball, WX at Davis at 5 and the 28th is state cross country day. The 29th is another volleyball game, Highland at WX at 5. Get excited! The student of the week is the wonderful and magnificent Jodie Warhurst. Besides being such a nice person, she is a wonderful addition to our volleyball and girls' basketball teams. She does not like it when people ask her how tall she is, but she does like belonging to such a classy school (not to mention men-tion a certain junior who is part of that classy school!). We are certainly cer-tainly glad to have people like Jodie around! We can all look forward to a peppy pep-py Pep Club Stomp on the 30th from 8-11 and of course, the 31st is Halloween!! |
