Show Game bird hunt update HUNGARIAN PARTRIDGE The reported 1985 hungarian partridge harvest was down 62 percent per-cent below the reported 1984 harvest har-vest and well below the harvest reported for the early 1980's. 1 he restricted and closed season changes for recent years make direct comparisons difficult. The index of hungarian partridge bagged bag-ged per hunter-day for 1985 was well below any previous level. Based on this index alone, it would appear that winter pouulation levels of hungarian partridge were quite low. COTTONTAIL The reported cottontail harvest last year was 60 percent below the 1984 level and well below levels reported for early 1980's. The number num-ber of hunters and hunting-days effort was also down in 1985. Low cottontail populations have persisted per-sisted since the winter of 1983-84 throughout the region. Summer inventory indicate cot-taintil cot-taintil production is still quite low. Conservation officers in both these counties feel that cottontail populations popu-lations are quite low, but up somewhat some-what over the tast two years. if- A i SEVENTH GRADE OFFICERS at Central Davis Junior High this year are, from left, Darin Stealer, president; Angie Hansen, vice-president; and Katie Oviatt, secretary. |
