Show 'Mrs. America' Pageant set Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest Mrs. of them all? The annual quest to solve that puzzle and find the most beautiful married woman to represent rep-resent Utah in the I987 Mrs. America Pageant has officially begun. Josette Roper, Mrs. America state director for Utah has announced that her pageant office is now accepting applications for its state wide competition Jan. 29-31 in Salt Lake City. The winner of this competition qualifies for the 1987 Mrs. America finals, which is presently present-ly scheduled for live coverage next fall from the Hawaiian Village Hilton. To qualify for the Mrs. Utah State Pageant, a contestant must be a U.S. Citizen, a minimum -of 18 years old, married for at least one year as of the date of entry of her state pageant, and a resident of the state she represents for a minimum mini-mum of six months. This year's Mrs. Utah prizes include: a cash award, honeymoon vacation, wardrobe, cosmetics, all expense trip to the Mrs. America Pageant and much more. Last year, over 15,000 married women applied ap-plied to the Mrs. America Pageant. The 50 finalists fin-alists ranged in age from 21-50 (the average age was 31.8), were married an average of 8.7 years, and had an average of 1 .8 children. Forty-two of the 50 delegates were mothers. |
