Show llalkiml Oairy President Is 00s8 Speaker Merrill N. Warnick, Pleasant Grove, Utah, national president of the American Dairy Association, Associa-tion, and Welby W. Young, of Heber City, Utah ADA president presi-dent were among officials discussing dis-cussing Utah's dairy future on Dairy Day in Roosevelt on Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mr. Warnick and Mr. Young appeared on a panel with A. J. Morris, managing director of Utah's ADA and acting dean of the school of agriculture at the Utah State Agricultural College, Col-lege, and Lloyd Hunsaker, Utah State Agricultural College professor pro-fessor of dairy husbandry. Mr. Warnick has just returned from Washington, D. C, where he has served as a dairy consultant con-sultant to secretary of agriculture agricul-ture Ezra Taft Benson, in meetings meet-ings with educational leaders. "Both school leaders and the dairy industry are interested in increasing the proportion of children receiving the benefits of school lunches," Mr. Warnick said. "Only approximately one-third one-third of America's school children chil-dren this year have been receiving re-ceiving these meals." In the conference, Mr. Warnick War-nick stressed the need for serving ser-ving cold milk to children. "Tests have indicated that the reason some children do not care for milk is that it is served when not cold," the dairy leader lead-er said. Mr. Warnick also emphasized em-phasized the need for making more milk available to children through vending machines at the schools. |
