Show Albion N. Alderman Albion "Al" Newton Alderman, 83, died Oct. 18, 1984 at Bountiful. HE WAS born March 11, 1901 at Joplin, Mo., the son and second child of seven children to Gildia Newton and Caroline Barkus Alderman. He married L. Mildred Callen-tine Callen-tine Aug. 10, 1924 in Joplin, Mo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 26, 1944. HE LIVED in Missouri for 80 years, when he retired, and then moved to Bountiful, with his only child, Mrs. E. Devont (Patricia) Stowell. He had worked for Meeker Leather Co.; Gateway Ice Cream Delivery Co., had farmed 80 acres near Diamond, Mo. during the depression; de-pression; Shell Oil Refinery and Gas Station Manager; radio patrol policeman, owner of Friend's Furniture and Joplin Merchant Night Watchman. HE JOINED The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Nov. 30, 1941 and had been very active since, having served as Branch President of the Joplin Branch: Sunday School Superintendent; Superin-tendent; Scouter, Priesthood teacher and leader; high councilman council-man in Joplin Stake. He was a High Priest in the Bountiful LDS 28th Ward for the past three years. He is survived by his wife Mildred Mil-dred of Bountiful; one daughter, Mrs. E. Devont (Patricia) Stowell, - - , .J i ' ' J' AL ALDERMAN Bountiful and nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. ALSO SURVIVING is one brother, Harold W. Alderman and one sister, Mrs. Donald C. (Mabel) Scott: and numerous nephews and nieces, Missouri. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Janet and David Allen Stowell. FUNERAL services were Monday, Mon-day, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Lind-quist's Lind-quist's Bountiful Chapel. Interment was in Bountiful Memorial Park under direction of Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary. |
