Show Help For Toddlers The toddler years are very important im-portant in the life of the young child for it is through the ages of one through three that the struggle for independence and self-mastery is waged. The challenge is not the child's alone as it calls for great patience and understanding from parents and others who live with them. TO HELP parents better understand under-stand and help their children through this important phase, the Davis School District's Parent Education Resource Center is pleased to offer a new five week series "Parenting of Toddlers." The classes are scheduled to begin be-gin Tuesday. Nov, 6. and will continue con-tinue through December 4. The location for the series is the Parent Education Resource Center which is located in the Monte Vista Center. Cen-ter. 100 S. 200 E.. Farmington. The time will be from 3:30 until 5 p.m. THE SERIES will be led by Ahtleen Coyner. R.N.. M.S. Throughout the series she will review re-view the developmental milestones miles-tones of children. 12 to 36 months, discussing health needs and concerns, con-cerns, toilet training, directing behavior be-havior and the importance of play to enhance learning. Mrs. Coyner brings with her much practical and professional experience to enrich the series. She obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University Universi-ty of Utah College of Nursing. She was a Maternal Child Health Consultant Con-sultant for the Utah Department of Health for over ten years. IN THAT position she developed and administered the Utah Infant Development Program which serves developmentally disabled children, birth to three years of age. For the past three years she-has she-has taught infant parenting classes at the Parent Education Resource Center in the Salt Lake City School District. ' She is co-author of a recently published textbook "Developmen tally Disabled Infants and Toddlers: Tod-dlers: Assessment and Intervention." Interven-tion." THE FEE for mothers w ishing to attend is $15 for the five classes. Fathers are free. Pre-registration is required as class size will be limited. li-mited.
