Show - - HIGH SCHOOL WORK. The 'Committee of the High School Board met in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday fo.' the purpose of ar-i ar-i angina for teachers for the coming year and the levying of the tax for ' tiie maintainance of the school at ( Mount Pleasant and Moroni. The committee agreed to recommend recom-mend to the High School Board a levy of a tax of three and one-half mills on High School district, and to employ Fix regular teachers and one special teacher for Mount Pleasant, also three regular and one special teacher for Moroni, which school will begin with a first and second yeai course, for the coming year. The renting of the High School building of Mount Pleasant to the High School district was considered but the amount to be paid in rental was not agreed upon, but will be decided de-cided upon by the board at its next meeting Saturday afternoon. The High School Board is trying to arrange for a course in Manual ' Training and also a course in Agri- culture for the coming year The board is endeavoring to bring the school up to' the standard of the leading schools of the state right from ihe beginning so that all the young people may receive the best opportunities at home for the least expense. Sanpete county is the most fertile valley in the state and should take the lead in Agricultural per-suits. per-suits. The young men of this valley should be trained along the line of Agriculture so that they may reap great profits from the soil, which is so valuable to them when properly cared for, |
