Show Park City takes a bow as media celebrity With the Art Festival as its anchor, Park City has been spotlighted spotlight-ed in a number of Salt Lake media recently, including live television coverage and major print stories. In addition to coverage during the festival, KUTV broadcasted segments seg-ments of their "First News" at 4:30 p.m. live from Park City last Thursday. The live segments included the weather (which made a number of very favorable comparisons between Park City and Salt Lake City), an interview with several of the artists participating in the Art Festival and an interview with Debby Symonds talking about all the other activities in Park City and Park City Ski Area's new Town Lift. Much of the same information was used again on KUTV's evening news. The Art Festival was featured on the front page of the Salt Lake Tribune's Weekend Entertainment section on Friday, Aug. 2, and on the front page of the Local section on Sunday, Aug. 4 and Monday, Aug. 5, with major articles in all three editions. The festival has also been written up in the Deseret News and a number of smaller Wasatch Front publications. In addition to the Art Festival coverage, Park City has been the subject of several other articles 1 Park City Area Update Cbanber of CemmrrrWC obj vralioa nd Visitors Birm resulting from a recent Regional Newspaper Press Tour sponsored by the Chamber Bureau. These included includ-ed articles in the Salt Lake Tribune, the Logan Herald Journal and the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner. The ChamberBureau will host another press tour in mid-August when writers from several national magazines will be visiting for three days. Also, due to the success of the recent meeting planners FAM (familiarization) tour, the Chamber Bureau will be doing more of these in the near future, according to Marty Melcher, director of marketing. Melcher says several travel agent FAM tours are also in the works. The Chamber Bureau also will be sending send-ing representatives to a number of fall ski shows around the country The ChamberBureau still has plenty of Summer Visitors Guides and Summer Menu Guides.
