Show Madelyne Stewart Henrikson Madelyne Stewart Henrikson died Feb. 19 in Salt Lake. She was 71. She was born Feb. 27, 1913 in Park City to Albert T. and Margaret Bonner Stewart. She married Clarence E.' Henrikson on Oct. 26, 1931 in Salt Lake. The union was solemnized on Jan. 25, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She held various positions in the LDS Church and also worked as a doctor's and dental assistant for 20 years. She is survived by her husband, of Salt Lake; children Mrs. Roy (Karen) Scott (Sandy), Mrs. Pat (Colleen) Roberts and C. Max Henrikson (the last two in Ogden); siblings Mrs. James (Rhea) Murdock (Morgan, Utah), Mrs. Harold (Melba) Stevens (Salt Lake), Mrs. Wayne (Connie) Boyle (Clearfield), and Max B. Stewart (Inglewood, California); six grandchildren ; and 1 1 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held last Saturday. Interment was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Reed S. Clegg Reed S. Clegg died Feb. 16 of heart failure. at age 72. Clegg, an orthopedic surgeon, was physician for all Ute athletic teams for the University of Utah for 36 years. He provided this service free of charge. Among others, he is survived by his son Steven, a Park City resident. Dr. Clegg was born June 9, 1912 to Brigham and Cloa Clegg. He married Alberta Gallagher on June 13, 1934. He attended East High School and served in the U.S. Army medical corps in World War II and the Vietnam War. He served in the European theater and was the first American to enter Hitler's Reich Chancellery in Berlin after the Nazi evacuation. His civic activities included service with the Chamber of Commerce Travel Board, The American Heart Association and the Salt Palace Development and Promotion Board. He made four trips to Central Mexico to provide medical aid to isolated Tarahumara Indians. He was affiliated with several hospitals, including St. Luke's (Chicago) the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota) and in Salt Lake: LDS, Primary Children's, St. Mark's, Holy Cross and the University hospitals. He is survived by his wife; son Steven, daughters Berta Richins.and Cari Dixin; brothers David and Brigham; sister Blanche Clarke; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His body was donated to the University of Utah Medical Center. |
