Show No more forwarding fee, says U.S. Postal Service Postal customers who move out of Park City no longer have to pay a fee to have their magazines, newspapers and other second-class mail forwarded, according to Postmaster Bryon Johnson. "All second-class items now will be forwarded nationwide, without charge, for 60 days from the date a change-of-address order is effective," Johnson said. In the past all second-class mail has been forwarded for 90 days, but the customer had to pay for the forwarding if the mail was sent beyond a 'ocal delivery area, he added. Other changes in forwarding procedure include: Elimination of a forwarding fee on parcels on which first-class postage has been paid (called priority mail). Return to senders of post and postal cards with address correction at no additional charge. Elimination of address correction fees incidental to the return of a piece of mail unless the correction is provided as a separate notice. |
