Show Budding talents to help arrange garden show at Salt Palace V ' ' V. " J J; r Renee Daines and Kathy Whalen of the Park City Flower Box will teach a floral design class at the Home and Garden Show at the Salt Palace on Feb. 28. The show runs through March 4. The annual show features exhibits, table settings, garden displays, exotic floral designs and demonstrations. Daines and Whalen have been invited to demonstrate several designs and teach flower care and home flower design. Daines is the owner of the Flower Box. She has been a Park City resident four years. "Flower have their own special messages, especially in expressing love," she said. "All of life's celebrations seem more complete and beautiful with the gift of flowers." Daines is a past president of the Utah Florist Association and a member of the FTD Gold Circle for sales achievement. Whalen, who is the manager for the Flower Box, will demonstrate arrangements. She received her training at Hennepen County Technical Center in Minnesota, where she later taught floral design. Before opening her own shop, also called The Flower Box, she worked for Cardell Floral of Minneapolis. Whalen moved to Park City to ski and has been with the Flower Box three years. Whalen and Daines will give demonstrations on opening night, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. Entry to the show is free.
