Show Para-Ski meet set for ParkWest March 2-3 ParkWest Resort will be the scene of the second annual Pepsi Cola U.S. Para-Ski Meet on March 2 and 3 when 75 competitors from all over the country fight gravity in parachuting and slalom skiing. The meet is part of a national series of competition. At 10 a.m. on Saturday, contestants will sky dive from a helicopter hovering 3000 feet above the resort. Each parachutist will get three chances to get as close to the target as possible. On Sunday contestants will gain altitude on a chairlift to compete in slalom racing. Each skier will have three chances to record the fastest time. Prizes in men's and women's divisions will be given to the top three finishers in the parachuting event, the ski race and the overall category. Merchandise donated by Dynastar, Pepsi and Para-Flite will be awarded to the winners. |
