Show JUDGE HELD A SHORT SESSION There was little to bo done by Judge Murphy In tho police court thU morning, morn-ing, because ho had few subjects to pass Judgment on. J. Davia stalod that bo was guilty of having boou "unlawfully drunk' August 19th. He was sentenced to pay a fine of $5 or serve five days in the city Jail at hard labor. William Preston denied that h was a "vag" and ho was given a hearing. Officer Kelllher stated that the man had beeu loafing around town for a number of days and that he had no means of support. Ho also stated that the fellow- undertook to formulate a plan of operation by which he could rob a man by tho name of Irish of $40. and that ho suggested to a bar- tender that if he would aid him in turning the trick, he would "split" tho money with hlra. Judgo Murphy suggested to tho fellow fel-low that It would be well for him to leave tho city instanter, and seek work In his home town. Salt Lake. The man left the court room with an expression of Joy on his face, saying that he would shake Ogdeu dust from bis feet and "make Salt Lake in a hurry" The court further advised Preston that If he waa picked up In Ofden again he would intone, a 90-days' 90-days' suspended sentence. Grace Roy, a colored woman, failed to appear and answer the charge of vagTancy.
