Show BETTER TONE 01 LOCAL EXCHANGE SALT LAKE, Aug. 10. There was a better tone to the local stock list I this morning, though there wus no heavy buing or selling indulged in. I The support given the various issues was qu.te good, resulting in some improvement im-provement In prices In seeral places. ! Both Colambus and Iron Blossom ! were stronger and a fair amount of I etock chauged hands In both these : issues. : . There was the usual amount of activity ac-tivity in South Columbus and Cedar-, Cedar-, Talisman, though both of these stocks declined in price. South Columbus ! was given a setback, owing to the : fact that some of the dissatisfied shareholders are disponed to sell their holdings rather than stay in. Most of this stock cost originally a great deal more money, but It Is evident that there are some who are willing to take their losses and venture In some other propositions. Opex was a feature this morning. Rolling tip to 3.1 cents, w.th a total of S.S'iO shares being disposed of. Yesterday Yes-terday it was a drug on the market, selling down t. 31 12 cents. Today the 3-cent assessment Kecomes delin- quent. and this ordinarily would put j ' a higher selling price on the stock. The development work in the mino is being pushed along, and if there should be a find made of any Importance, Import-ance, the share price would doubtless react very quickly. I.Hiring the lulls In trading the brokers Hre inquiring about the progress prog-ress being made in development and the conditions of tho eastern market. The big markets are going through a settl.ng process at this time, and there are th09o who believe that it will he several days before the higher prices are again reached. The advance ad-vance was too sudden to hold permanently, perma-nently, and after being shaken down there will bo another uplift. |
