The department de-partment has reserved abojt .$-10,000 of the fund for emergencies. According Accord-ing to the allltruent, which was made recording to the enlisted strength of the organized militia in the various states, five states get more than $50,-000 $50,-000 each. Of these New York leads w,th $206,000; Pennsylvania follows, with $140,000, Illinois with $81,000; Massachusetts with $78,000. Ohio with $73,000 and New Jersey with $54,000. Of the others. Alabama, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, ' Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mln- nesota, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin get each more than $25,000. Utah ends the list with only $4,-77S. $4,-77S. while Delaware, Hawaii. Idaho, North Dakota nnd Wyoming are the only others to get less than $10,000.
