Show BURGLARIES IN OGDEN HOMES HUPFER AND PIDCOCK RESIDENCES RESI-DENCES RANSACKED. Silverware Taken From One Home, Savings Bank One of Articles Taken From the Other. A gang of burglars were evidently on the ramnage In the city last evening, even-ing, two known burglaries having been committed. One was at the home of Dr. Pldcock at 615 22nd street, and the other at the residence of Charley Hupfer at C53 25th street- Both place3 were ransacked quite completely, but at the latter place the thieves did not succeed in finding much of A'alue. It Is thought the fellows were frightened away before they had finished searching search-ing the house. As It happened, too, Mrs. Hupfer was wearing her valuable Jewels, the family. baIng been out to the theater during the evening. The burglary occurred between the hours of 9 and 12 o'clock. The only thing found missing at the Hupfer home was the little boy's savings bank, which contained ten or twelve, dollars. The fellows entered the house through a transom, which they broke and evidently made their escape through one of the doors, which they could easily unlock" from the inside. The men met' with better success at the Pidcock residence, it being discovered dis-covered that they had carried away at least two hundred dollars worth of silverware. Entrance Into this house was made by means of a skeleton kor. Dr. and Mrs. Pidcock were away from lioroe during the fore part of the night, returning at about 12 o'clock, when to their consternation they found the bouse had been sacked from one end to the other. The officers were immediately imme-diately advised of the burglaries and a force of policemen were detailed on the cases. Jp. to a late hour, however, how-ever, no clue as to the identity of those guilty of the crimes was gleaned. During the last few days there has been quite an Influx of men from other parts tramping through the country, a good many of whom, though, have the appearance of being working men. Last night and the night before the city Jail was pretty well filled with Jodgera who came to the; station for a place to sleep.
