Show CRACK SKATERS WILL COMPETE AT NEW YORK New York, Feb. 8. Crack -skaters of Canada and the United States will be seen at St. Nicholas' rink tonight lu the International amateur indoor skating championships. The star of t the contest, or at least the man in I whom the most Interest. Is centered la Kdmund Lamy of Saranac Lake. N. Y., who has shown such remarkable speed In hia recent victories at Cleveland, Cleve-land, Pittsburg. Saranac Lake and Montreal. Lamy may be handicapped to some extent by the shoit turns In the rink, but his followers say that he will sweep everything before him as usual. Several prominent western skaters are entered, among them A. Anderson and Harry Kaad of Chicago, and Charles T. Fisher of Milwaukee, Lamy, just at present, Is having a bit of technical trouble with the racing rac-ing board of tho Eastern Amateur Skating association. He has failed to register. It Is said, and his case will be considered at a meeting of the board today. He will be requested to return the prizes he won during the first two days of the Cleveland races, i on tho ground that he was Improperly registered then. |
