Show SCOUTS CURE FOR HEROES GRAVES Deputy Commissioner Evolves Plan for Year-round Attention Atten-tion in Cemeteries- Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Com-missioner Lyles W. Larkin, Boy Scout troops of Ogden will hold memorial me-morial service this afternoon over graves of world war veterans. Deputy Depu-ty Commissioner Larkin announced todav that a plan had been evolved whereby the welfare of Soldier's graves will be assured, a troop of scouts having been appointed for the gravo of each ex-service man who is buried in local cemeteries. To keep tho record of the soldier, sailor, or marines burial place clear, a blue print of the'City and the Mountain Moun-tain View cemeteries has been drawn up, showing exactly where the soldier's sol-dier's grave is located. At the scout services this afternoon, the deceased men and scout officials who will be accorded honor by the Boy Scouts, will be as follows, the the name of the service man, the troop appointed to decorate graves and the scoutmaster whoh as charge of tho troop: Glen Stalllngs, Troop 10, W. W. Wlmmor. Fred Jorgenson, Troop 0, Scoutmaster Scoutmas-ter TaggarL William Price, Troop 30, William Salt. Leland Brewer, Troop IS, Charles Clark. D. Karvariles, Troop 3, W. G. King. Charles White, Troop 12, Carl Peter son. Oliver R. Drysdale, Troop 21, Lew-ellyn Lew-ellyn Roberts. Lieut. Wallace Ruby, Troop 23, George Bergstrom. Arthur Hansen, Troop 17, Laurel Brown. Harry Malone, Troop 5, Thomas Maginnls. Lieut. George Beck, Troop 1G, Del-bert Del-bert Foulger. Deputy Scout Commissioner I. Guy Clark, Troop 13, Rex Bachman. Under present arrangements, the troop which has been assigned to care for a grave will have that responsibility responsi-bility for a year. During this time, tho scouts will take care of the grave, keep it in first class condition, and on Memorial day will see that a flag and a spray of flowers are placed- on the grave. To assist in the compiling of the soldier's record which has been planned by the scouts. Deputy Commissioner Com-missioner inrkin has asked that relatives rela-tives of deceased men send in the name, rank, organization, name of father, mother's maiden name, wife's maiden name, if married, serial number, num-ber, place and time of birth, place and time of death and the causo of death. The scouts plan to keep their record complete and intend doing homage to all former fighters who, since the termination ter-mination of the great struggle, or who died in this country while the war was raging, by keeping the graves and the memories of Ogden heroes always fresh and green. oo |
