Show ; TILLS OFFICER HE ! WILL 'COME LATER'; FAILS TO SHOW UP ! i A small boy who had lost his bl-I bl-I cycle about a veur ago informed Traffic Officer "W. H. Ellsworth yesterday yes-terday morning that he had discovered discov-ered the wheel in possession of a certain man whom he pointed out to the officer. When asked how he could identify the bicycle the boy said lie had tho number. ' An investigation inves-tigation was made and the . number quoted by the boy was found stamped on the -bicycle Officer Ellsworth then informed tho man who was in possession of tho wheel that the boy claimed it as his property and alleged that it had been stolen. The mall denied that h6 had stolen it, stating that he had purchased It some long time ago. "You must come to the police station sta-tion with mo," the officer informed tho mam "I am loo busy right now," the man replied, "but I will come over a little later." lie is still coming. The boy accompanied the officer to the station, where a record was ' made of the loss and recovery of I the wheel which is still being held for the man. 1 Officer Ellsworth said , that ho ! thought he could Identify tho man who Is alleged to have stolon tho I wheel from tho boy. Tn fact ho stated that during the afternoon he (felt almost certain he saw him on j the street but he was too busy at jthat moment directing traffic and t could not make the arrest. oo |
