CLEVELAND PROMISES TO DELIVER GOULD SALT LAKE, March 13. Baseball headquarters yesterday received a letter let-ter from Manager Walter McCredie, written Saturday, In which Mac says ho has had assurance from Cleveland that the Indians will turn over Pitcher Pitch-er Al Gould in due time. There appears ap-pears still to be some mix-up between the Cleveland club and the Toronto management In respect of Gould, but, judging from McCredie's letter, the Clevelanders have taken it upon themselves them-selves to send the little fllnger to Salt Lake. McCredie also wrote in high terms of Allen Conkwright, the Salt Lake youngster who is with Mac's heavers at Porterville. Since the letter was written before Sunday's game with tho Orange Pickers, in which Conkwright performed so nobly, doubtless Mac's first good impression has been strengthened. |
