Show oo Former Ambassador Dies at Capital WASHINGTON, March 12. Charles Pago Bryan, former ambassador to Japan and former minister to several other countries, died hero last night of heart failure. Ho was 61 years old. Mr. Bryan began his diplomatic career as minister to China in 1897 under President McKinley. Afterwards he served as minister to Brazil, to Switzerland, to Portugal and to Belgium. Bel-gium. He was ambassador to Japan in 1911 and 1912; Mr. Bryan was born In Chicago. Of late years he had made his home for the most part in Washington. At one time he lived in Colorado. He was a member of tho Society of the Cincinnati Cincin-nati and was a Spanish war votcran. The body will be buried here probably Friday. |
