Show ALEXANDER IS EfflETjf I JOIN Notifies Weeghman That He Will Report for Training With Cubs. CHICAGO, March 12. The Chicago Nationals left here in two special cars tonight for the spring training camp at Pasadena, Cal. There was a rush of holdouts to sign their contracts. All of the pastimers, with the exception of Grover Cleveland Alexander, and Peter Kilduff. an infielder, camo to terms. Alexander advised President Weeghman Weegh-man that he would join tho club at Kansas City tomorrow. Kilduff also will join tho party at Kansas City. Fred Mitchell, manager of the club, is confident that he can satisfy the demands de-mands of Alexander, who wants a ?10,000 Montis for his transfer from Philadelphia. President Weeghman exchanged telegrams tel-egrams with Alexander at the lattor's home in St. Paul, Neb., but ho said tho subject of a bonus was not discussed. The pitcher's willingness to join the club tomorrow is taken to indicate that his terras will bo adjusted. Weeghman declined to make a statement state-ment in this regard. Otto Knabe. tho coach, and Pitcher Carter will join the team later. Knabo Is suffering from the grippe and Carter Is the victim of measles. The party is scheduled to reach Pasadena Friday night. |
