Show oo Willi AGAINST LIES OF FII J H. Coons, first assistant postmaster post-master general, has acquired the habit of calling a "spade a spado" and a prevarication a Ho. In a circular letter recently addressed to postmasters postmas-ters throughout tho country, he warns against "Being fooled by tho lies of the enemy." Postmastor Browning has received the following letter from Mr. Coons: "Tho United States government has issued a poster entitled, "Do Not Be Fooled by tho Lies of tho .Enomy,' copies of which will be mailed to all postofficcs In the United States. The posters contain tho statement that the United States government is not taking tak-ing away from the people and will not take away, from them in tho future any of tho canned goods, preserves, homegrown home-grown food or usual stocks of provisions provi-sions bought and kept in tho pantry and cellar for family uso and is issued for tho purpose of counteracting certain cer-tain wrongful impressions which have been disseminated by the enemies of tho country. Postmasters are urged to conspicuously display tho posters." The pro-German element is responsible respon-sible for- the circulation of the report that the governmont contemplates wholesalo confiscation of foodstuffs.
