Show uu FEDERATED W. C. T. II, HOLDS MEETING The following program was given Wcdnesdav at the Grace Baptist fhurch by the Federated W. C. T. U.: "The Cigarette in the School," by Miss Jennio Prout. She told of the poor records made in high schools by cigarette smokers and how the habit gradually undermined mentality. "Tho Value of Newspaper Space," by Mrs. Ida Brown. The Idea was brought out that all space granted free by a paper represents a certain monetary mone-tary value to the paper and should never be wasted nor lightly valued, nor should the contributor be peeved If her contribution must sometimes be cut down. "How Interests Try to Control Newspapers" News-papers" was contributed by Leota Kennedy, the thought being brought out that as sinister forces are ever seeking to mould public opinion through the press so also should moral mor-al forces. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. A. Y. Richmond, Mrs. B. F. Thomas, Mrs. Ed Goodale and Mrs, Oren Hadlock. The May meeting will be held at the Episcopal church guild room and will be Crittenton Home day. The program will be In charge of Mrs. O. J. Stllwell and Mrs. W. A. Middleton. |
