Show CHOIR TUB FOR MUSIC RENDERED IN IT LIE That the Boseret Sunday School union board had passed a resolution thanking the Ogden tabernacle choir, Its director, organist and soloists for the musical program furnished at the semi-annual conference of the Sunday School union, held in Salt Lake City, Sunday evening, April 8, was the information in-formation conveyed last night in a letter let-ter to Director Ballantyne. The letter which waB read to the choir at its regular reg-ular rehearsal, is as follows: "The Deseret Sunday School union board, at its last regular meeting, unanimously passed a resolution expressing ex-pressing to you, as director of tho Ogden Og-den tabernacle choir, to Mr. Sam Whit-akcr, Whit-akcr, organist; soloists, William S. Wright, Mildred Ware, Douglas Brian. Mjrtle B Higley. aud all members of your choir, a vote of thanks for tho splendid musical uplift given us In the rendition of Dudley Buck's "Story of the Cross" and "Coming of the King." at our conference Sunday, April 8. From many people we have heard expressions ex-pressions of delight regarding the program pro-gram so splendidly rendered, and the general opinion is that it was one of the most uplifting programs ever provided pro-vided for the Sunday school workers. We thank you all for the services rendered ren-dered and for the time and money so freely given by you in the interest of the Sunday school cause. We wish you. Brother Ballantyne. soloists and members, continued success in the splendid work in which you are engaged, en-gaged, and pray that the Lord may bless you abundantly in your worthy efforts to raise the musical standard among the people. At the rehearsal last night the choir passed a portion of the time practicing some special numbers for the Weber stake conference Sunday and also re-hearsel re-hearsel two opera choruses for a recital re-cital to be given sometime in May. no |
