Show oo- HEALTH BENEFITED BY DRILL. Those who are offering their services ser-vices to tho Home Guards are to receive re-ceive in return something more than the knowledge that they are doing a home duty. Tho movement is Inspired by patriotism and a desire' to help the cause of the nation. But this point must not be overlooked: The business men, professors, students, stu-dents, and others who enter the ranks are to be instructed in the rules of health and are to receive directions in physical culture. One of the drill masters has said: "Men attended the first meeting who plainly showed tho need of proper prop-er training in physical culture. They were men who stoop at their work, sit in a cramped position and fall to give the heart, lungs and stomach freedom of action necessary to health. We will take those recruits to this home army and explain to them how to carry themselves, how to expand the chest and allow the Internal organs or-gans to function properly, and In three months we will revitalize those who aro run down. This will be reciprocity. reciproc-ity. They are giving their time to a good cause. In return they will be benefited by a better understanding of how to breathe how to live." oo |
