Show oo WILLIAM N. PEIRCE OF OGDEN. , Grand Army veterans, who have called on the Standard since the death of William N. Pelrce, have told of the years of service which their comrade gave the local post as adjutant general, gen-eral, and one of them remarked that any four of the veterans might pass away and the organization suffer less than it did when Mr. Peirce was suddenly sud-denly stricken down, so careful was ho in his post work and patient in looking after details. This winter has taken a large number num-ber of men who seemingly wore inseparably in-separably a part of Ogden. We' could give a list of not less than half a dozen, after whom those who have been away from Ogden any length of time will Inquire, and, learning they have gone, feel that a void has been created. Wm. N. Peirce Is one of them. Ho was unobtrusive, uniformly uniform-ly courteous and a most reBpected citizen, cit-izen, neighbor and friend. He did his full part In this community and the Standard will place a flowor on his grave, as It proceeds to drop a flower on other graves this coming Memorial Me-morial Day. |
