With its stars in a heaven of blue; That floats from the mast, An emblem at last Of a world being made anew. No tongue can say : Nor pen portray ' The love my hearts pours out to thee; No hand shall mar, Nor star nor bar So long as strength shall hold In me. What's in this flag That Is only a rag, ' To stir the strong hearts of a race, And lure to its fold Strong men of the world, '; To hold in its kindly embrace? It Is more than warp and woof and thread, This wonderful flag that waves o'or- head It Is more than color of red and bluo : This flag that waves for mo and you. J It stands for freedom of word and deed; It stands for equality of clan and j creed; It stands for the many against tho one, In land 'neath every sun.
