Many of the latter arc quite dressy, and when one doffs the coat of such a costume, a complete metamorphosis is apparent, and the wearer is admirably dressed for an informal dinner or a theater party. Frequently tbe bodice is originated in a delicate shade of Georgette crepe, or shimmering lace, and is cut quite decollete. Three charming, models arc pictured in the above illustration. At the left plain navy blue taffeta is interestingly in-terestingly combined with plaid silk. The 'skirt is designed de-signed with broad plaits of navy taffeta that alternate with inserts oC the plaid. The 'lower part of the jacket ia fashioned on, .similar lines, while, a novel touch ia re-'vealcd re-'vealcd in''thc- button trimming which extends to the White urge, bound 'with Nattier blue silk. . Hat of Nattier blue straw, with white silk band and pink rosea. apex of the collar, and thereon perchance for good luck is placed a solitary button. The front is designed with narrow revers that extend to the waistline, and as they are not crossed over thrs permits of the introduction introduc-tion of a lovely green waistcoat, which is fastened with small squarely cut gold buttons. , The brim of the small hat that crests this creation in arranged in segment style. The outer sides are of the navy taffeta, while the inner sides are of golden, straw. This is also used for the crown, on which arc poised two quills that are apparently at cross purposes. In the center. of the two is.a smart costume of flna A Dccolle te j Bodice- I -r quaint lb style, and a pleasing pleas-ing luucu is iuuuu m the scalloped trimmings, which arc done in Nattier -blue silk. The little jacket hangs from the shoulders like a gay rippling flounce, and as It approaches the waistline for it does not reach it a solitary button and buttonhole hold captive its flaring folds. Tho collar passing well over the shoulder might more fittingly be termed a cape, whilo the bell shaped sleeves seem to have resented their freedom. and are partly restrained by a prim silk 4dged cuff. ' . The cbapeau with wide, spreading brim is made of Nattier blue straw and around tho crown a soft fold of silk is effectively draped. Such simplicity, however, would be ill suited to the lavishly trimmed dress of the hour, hence clusters of rosebuds are lightly perched oc elther-oide and tower above tho croW. j Pine bark taffeta and serge. Hat of sam J shade straw with novelty cockade. i A charming three piece suit is illustrated at the risht j and silk and serge are cleverly combined in this modeL j The color favored is brown in a lovely pine bark shade. The full skirt is made of the silk with two broad bands of serge, while the slipover jacket, minus sleeves, is abo developed in the silk. The front and back of the snu fitting bodice with its flaring pcplum, elaborated with j handsome pockets, is originated in the serge, while the prettily hung sleeves are made of crepe Georgette, cuffed with the silk. The small chapeau is of brown straw adorned with a quaint fancy that savors of the woods, the brown beads suggesting the pine tree cone. From this point bright green pine needles, rather exVatcd in aizc-jvro gayly 1 bunched together. " -V 45 .v..-"- I |
