Tho bill was finally laid on tho table for a week, the tenor of the discussion indicating that tho school board will not tolerate the incurring in-curring of expense without previous authorization. The board has decided that these irregularities and loose methods must Btop. The questton was brought to the attention at-tention of the board by Director Fred Williams, to whom tho bill had been presented last week He reported that a committee visited the Lewis school to confer with Mr Wintle as to tho purchase of the trees and found that the purchase already had been made and tho trees planted. Mr. Williams said, advised Mr Wintle that it was contrary to the rules of the board to have anything purchased without Its official order Concluding his report, Director Williams Wil-liams moved that in the present instance in-stance tho bill be paid. The motion was seconded by J W. Lovedahl. President W. 11 Williams of the board was of the opinion that schools employees, who contracted bills without with-out tho sanction of the school directors, direc-tors, should be compelled to pay them. Director Wade Johnson then moved that the bill be laid on the table for a week. This motion was seconded by Director H. H. Henderson and carried. Directors Johnson and Henderson and President Williams voting for it and Directors Lovedahl and Fred Williams against it. " In a communication from Principal J. E. Beeson of tho high school, it was suggested that May 24th be set as the date for holding the annual com mencement exercises.
