Lst evening ,at the Elite Athletic j club, Jinimie Johns, the local fnvor- ! ite, met Harry Atwood, of Los Angeles, and was awarded a hair-breadth de ij cision, after four rounds of terrific fighting. Tho fight was everything that Eddie Dallas, the local match- maker, predicted. Although out- , weighed five pounds, Atwood inado the Ogden boy step faster than he has , ever done before. The first two rounds J found Atwood on the aggressive and, y if he could have kept up the pace to t the end of the fight, ho would have f won, but Johns rallied and, after knocking Atwood to the floor for a j second in the last rouna, gained a i close decision. The semi-wind up was between J Harry Schuster of Oakland and Jim- j mle Brown of Ogdem The fight was j called a draw but, from the ringside, ' it -could be seen that Brown was not j himself and the decision should have '! been a win for Schuster. Brown was stale last night, and his fighting was S not up to what it has been. Young McGee demonstrated that he could hit when Blackle Malan ,i stopped one of his punches hi the 'I third. The match was a slugging con- i test and had the fans on edge all the time. j Bus Boyle, after a week's training, came back and put the skids to Bat Nelson In the second round Nelson was not knocked out but, after he re- j colved a badly damaged eye, Referee m,?s gave the decision to Boyle. The curtain-raiser was a fast bout between Eddie Mack and George Wall, with the decision going to Mack.
