Show LYCEUM SUNDAY "The Girl and the Game" (Chapter l'i. "Helen's Race Against Time.") Helen is spending a fortnight with her uncle, Amos Ithlnelander, at the Hotel Hollywood. Through his gift of a generous interest In the Superstition Supersti-tion Mine, she Is again restored to her proper social position. Helen notices that he seems to have something on his mind, however, and remarks about It. The mystery is solved when Rhine-lander Rhine-lander takes her upon an automobile trip to her old home, where she finds all tlie old servants are again installed there Ho informs Helen that the home is now hers. Later Ithlnelander speaks to Helen with regard to Seagrue, explaining that ho was his only sister's child and he had promised her ou hlSgdeath bed to look after him and as much as possible to take her place. He tells her he understands all the wrongs Seagrue has done them both, but for his sister's sake he wants to to' once more to make a man of him, and asks that Helen invite him to the informal-Tecoption informal-Tecoption that afternoon. Helen grauts the requesL and' Seagruo accepts. George Storm is also a guest, and upon up-on arriving proposes marriage to Helen and is accepted. Soagrue insults in-sults Storm. Storm resents this aud a pitched, battle is the result Helen and her guests arrive upon tho scene and Helen Is shocked and mortified by Storm's lack or restraint. -As a result she ignores Strom the rest of the afternoon and accepts the attentions atten-tions of SeagTiie. When tho guests are leaving Storm, being still stubborn, Helen returns his ring to him. Meanwhile tho station agent has received a message to the effect that No. 8, the heavy passenger passeng-er train, would wait at Fooley Junction Junc-tion for the local. In the excitemont he had forgotten to deliver this message mes-sage to the train crew of the local Helen and Seagrue notice his excitement excite-ment and the, cause of it being explained, ex-plained, they enter Seagrue's car and pursue the train They attract the at-I at-I tentlon of the fireman, but he thinks j they are merely racing the train and pas no attention to them They drive desperately ahead, and attempt to at-1 at-1 tract the engineer's notice, but with-I with-I out success Helen then recalls that 1 tl can make Burnet Bridge ahead of the tram. Tliey do so aud Helen explains her plan to Seagrue. He says it is certain deatli and tries to pre-ent pre-ent her attempting it. She leaps from the car, however, hangs from the bridge and drops on the top of passenger pas-senger car of the local as it passes beneath be-neath She runs along the top of tho cars, climbs down between the cars and disconnects tho rear two cars from the rest of the train. The heaw passenger train dashes across the junction between the two sections of the local and the wreck is averted She drops to the ground, and falls unconscious Storm arrives and takes her in his arms and when she recoers she asks him to tako her home.
