On the same bill, at no advance In prices, he will present two big features each night with a Wednesday matinee. Charlie Chaplin, the famous comedian, will be seen in a three-reel comedy entitled, "Charlie s First Vacation." This picture Is said to be a scream. On the same bill will be one of the latest Fox pictures and one different from nil others, as it is a big picture of the west, of the cattle country and cow punchers. The story is as follows: Dismissed from college and disowned dis-owned 'by his millionaire father, Algy Dupont light-heartedly sets forth in his high-powered racing car to "seo America." He kidnaps Petekinr, the fnmlly butler. After many days of arduous going, tho auto pioneers fnd themselves stranded in Red Gulch, Montana, Algy wins one hundred dollars and a reputation by knocking out a local white hope Algy meets Mildred Dcmarest and through her he accepts a job ou the ranch of her father, Big Bill Demarest Buck, foreman fore-man at the ranch, Is in lovo with Mildred Mil-dred He becomes jealous of Algy with good reason, and determines to finish him by fair means or foul. His opportunity soon arrives, Algy and Buck are sent with $25,000 on a horse-buying horse-buying expedition and Buck connives with a "stlckup" man to steal tho gold. Petekins, the butler, who has followed his young master with an extra ex-tra blanket, overhears the plan, but bofore ho can warn Algy he Is forced to take refuge in an old ice house, where a treacherous door swings shut and he is imprisoned. The plan works out. Charlie, the bandit, holds up Algy in Buck's absence and makes him leave a note confessing the crime, after which he breaks for the Mexican border, taking Algy and the money. Buck follows them, quarrels with Charlie over the loot and tho two thieves kill each other. Algy lakes tho money and starts back for the ranch. His confession has meanwhile been found and a posse is after him. They catch him as he is returning to the ranch. His story is laughed to scorn and it Is only through the com-bined com-bined efforts of Mildred, the distressed dis-tressed Petekins and the faithful racing rac-ing car that young Mr. Dupont is ies- , cued from the attentions of a necktie I party. |
