Show COUCH-BREWER WEDDING AND RECEPTION. Among the pretty events of the week was the wedding of Miss Elcan Couch and Herbert W. Brewer, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. L, Brewer, 2131 Jefferson Jeffer-son avenue. The ceremony was performed per-formed by Bishop E A. Olsen of the Fourth ward promptly at 7 o'clock and the bridal party stood beneath an arbor of yellow daffodils, jonquils and white roses Intertwined with smi-lax smi-lax and ferns. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Oscar L. Couch. She wore a gown of white silk lace and net prettily trimmed with pearls and carried a shower bouquet bou-quet of white bride's roses Miss Virgel Pelt was bridesmaid and was attractive in a gown of pale pink silk with lace trimming. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. The groom was attended by Leland Brewer. Folowlng the ceremony, which was witnessed only by members of the immediate im-mediate lamilies, a wedding reception was held, to which about seventy-five were bidden. The guests began to arrive about 8 15 o'clock and were received by Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Brewer, Brew-er, Mr and Mrs, 0. L. Couch, Mr. and Mrs Frank Brewer and next in line, the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Brewer and Miss Virgel Petty and Leland Brewer. Until 11 30 o'clock the guests were entertained throughout the home. In the dining room tho decorations were In green and white, Easter lilies and potted ferns and palms being arranged ar-ranged In artistic splendor. Here the little Misses Leona Sheehan, Virginia Draney and Marjorie Brewer presided presid-ed and served delicious refreshments In buffet style. In the parlor Miss Ruth Brewer served punch. In one room the wedding gifts were arrayed and they consisted of many lovely articles of chinaware, cutglass, linens, silverware, pictures and other choice pieces tendered by a host of friends of the young couple. The bride and groom are now enjoying enjoy-ing a short honeymoon and will be at homo at 770 Twentieth street about May 15. Among the out-of-town guests present pres-ent at the wedding reception were: Mrs. C. Hughey and "Mrs. G. H. Graham Gra-ham of Salt Lake City. |
