Show oo 'THE QUESTUI" ST THE ORACLE SUNDAY IH MUMY Society weaknesses and their effect on a young, impressionable girl, who later, when she reaches the full stature sta-ture of womanhood, realizes the hol-lowness hol-lowness of it all and does her best to make amends for her foolishness, is the story of 'Roy L. McCardell, underlying under-lying the big Equitable feature, "The Question," which Is coming to the Oracle Theater on Sunday and Monday, Mon-day, with Marguerite Leslie In the stellar part. Intent upon her social -pleasures, she marries a man who loves children, and the disastrous results of her preferring pre-ferring dogs, cards, parties, and the other allurements of a society existence, exist-ence, to the normal existence of a home with a loving family, and powerfully power-fully presented. Her awakening to a realization of the evil she has wrought through her selfishness, and her bravo acceptance of Its results, with her supreme effort at recovering recover-ing tho beauties of life which she has cast away, give the star an opportunity opportun-ity for some intensely absorbing dramatic dra-matic work. That she takes full advantage ad-vantage of the opportunities Is a foregone fore-gone conclusion, but it will require the seeing of the plcturo before a thorough knowledge of the dopth and strength of her dramatic ability can be realized. The story conveys a powerful lesson, without trenching on tho ground of sermonizing, and is presented pre-sented lp. an appealing and convincing manner. It is well worthy of a placo on the Equitable program. |
