DIES II SALT LAKE Salt Lake, April 3 Roscoe Mahon, assistant superintendent of the Salt Ixike division of the Denver & Rio (irande railroad, died at a local hospital hos-pital Thursday afternoon from blood poisoning, after a four weeks' illness j He Is survived by his widow and one son, who reside here. The funeral services wll be held in the Masonic temple at 9 45 tomorrow morning, after aft-er which the body will he sent to Newark, New-ark, Ohio, for interment Mr. Mahon was born In Emejine. Iowa. December 28. 1S76 While yet in his teens he began his railroad career ca-reer on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad with headquarters In Newark, Ohio. In the spring of 1901 he came to Utah I and was emploved as a brakeman by the Denver & Rio Grande, with which company he was retained in various capacities until his death After a little more than a year's ser-1 vice with the Rio Grande Mr. Mahon iWBfl promoted to the position of con-I con-I ductor between Salt Lake and Helper He remained in that capacity until . 1910, when he was promoted to train j master on the Colorado lines of the company, with headquarters in Glen- j wood Springs. The same year he was advanced to assistant superintendent of the Salt Lake division, with headquarters head-quarters in Salt Lake, the position he held at the time of his death. |
