Formerly pastor of the Disciples Disci-ples church in Mackinaw, 111., he was for two years secretary and for two years president of the Illinois Christian Christi-an Endeavor societies In 1902. Mr. Stewart was elected to the Illinois legislature on the prohibition prohi-bition ticket, and, though the only prohibitionist in the house, he was instrumental in the passage of many bills In which the people of Chicago and the state were interested Since serving in the legislature, Mr Stewart has been much in demand for I the Chautauqua and lecture platforms and for reform work His intense per- I sonality and overwhelming enthusiasm, enthusi-asm, supplemented by his irresistible logic, have made him a powerful and popular figure in the public life of the country. .Mr Stewart will be heard on Thurfl day. April 7, and with him comes Hon. J. Frank Hanley. formerly governor of Indiana, and Hon. John B.
