Show SEW TICKET FH: I HIGH SCHOOL j EMS I, I A movement was launched last v spring at the high school to put all school activities on a moro substan- tlal basis. With that end in view, the f idea of a season ticket was brought f up. After an explanation as to the details of tho schemo was mado, tho student body voted unanimously to adopt tho plan. With the school sea- son about to begin, the idea again V comes to tho front. i The reasons given for tho season I ticket aro simply these: f; Greater school spirit because all are Interested. Larger attendance at all school f functions because all havo their tick- ets. ; J It Is a big saving to the student, j In explanation of tho laBt, the fol- ' ! lowing is given: The school Is allowed ono social function a month (evening party or I matinee) to "which admission Is charged. In addition to the dances K there are at least two football games, four league basketball games (last year there were four additional : games) to which admission is charged, i) Again, the school gives a play, and s If the Ogden high plays for the stato championship in baseball, ono game in- that line. There are also other 1 activities, such as wrestling matches, f to which the season ticket would ad- I mit the owner. Tho ticket also en- V titles the owner to a year's subscrlp- tion to the school paper, the Class!- cum. But in order that each class might have a little money to cover its ex- penses, It was decided that four dances (one for each yearly class) admissions might be charged, if the j class saw tit to do so. In addition j; to that, admissions to the annual J.i Classacalia would be charged, making ; a possible five events during the 1 whole school year entrance to which j' ono must pay. ' The season ticket will cost ?2.50. j , When ono estimates the saving elim- j i inating the possible dances to which !' i admission is charged two league f football games, four league basketball ,l games, tho social functions, evening parties and matinees) at least one f play, subscription to the school paper j and a possible championship base- ball game all for ?2.50 the saving is J apparent t But this must not be forgotten; t" that the purchase of the ticket is no! compulsory. It is purely a matter o( j1 choice. No stigma will be attached I to the person who does not own a i ticket or who does not care to own one. However, the inducements of- jf fered are so good, that it Is expected that very few will not avail thent selves of the chance. The spirit and enthusiasm last f year at the high school was greater i' than ever. This year even greater things are looked for. j p " i I |
