Baker is slated for a berth on the Yankee team. 'Again Comisky is going to buy him for the White Sox. Again he is to join the Federals. Fed-erals. AIL of these rumors contain much that is true and much that is mere guesswork. However, it is practically certain that Baker has received offers from the Federal magnates, who would like to place him as manager of the team which the new league is planning on putting in New York next season. It is also true that both the 1 ankees and White Sox would buy Baker if t'lfey could. Also it is a pretty safe bet that Baker will not sign up with the Delaware team with which he has been playing this year. The former Athletic has many years of good baseball left in him. He likes the game, and he likes the salary that a big league can pay him. Just where Baker will land, though, is at present mere conjecture. Connie Mack says he will not be signed up by the Athletics and Baker secouds Coii-me's Coii-me's sentiments. |
