Browning has Issued the following J suggestions to the public which, it j complied with, will materially assist the clerks and carriers in their work, j "See that the addresses on letters j and packages are written legibly and 1 completely. j "See that the names and addresses j of persons mailing letters and packages pack-ages are written legibly and com-- : pletely. p "Mail letters and packages early j and avoid the rush. j "Pack all parcels properly and se- j curelj'. ; "Prepay postage full on all par- 1 eels." 1 He also urges the following: i "Pack articles carefully and wrap s them securely, but do not seal them, as sealed parcels are subject to post- ' age at the letter rate. jj "Insure valuable parcels, fee 5 or , 10 cents. 1 "Written inscriptions, such as j 'Merry Christmas,' 'Happy New Year,' j 'With Best Wishes.' and numbers t names or letters for purposes of in- j scription, are permissible additions ; to fourth class (parcel post) mail. ! |
